WHAT CLAUDIA SHARED ABOUT WORKING AT ACCURATE
What’s your favorite thing about working at Accurate? The building where I work; the residents treat me so well. I feel motivated. Some days I don’t wake up feeling like I want to do anything, like all of us I suppose. But I get up, shower, drink my coffee, and go. Once I get to work, I forget about everything else, and I love to be there. If I could be there 24 hours a day I would be! It’s my sweet spot. I like being there. I don’t miss work. I don’t call in. I like to help on other accounts. I’m not the type of person that I give myself a pass to take off a day when I’m not feeling at my best—I still get up and go to work, and I’m absolutely great!
What makes you proud of being an Accurate team member? The respect and appreciation I get from the residents at my worksite and also from my coworkers. Accurate is a great place to work. I have good relationships with my coworkers and camaraderie because we feel confident and comfortable, happy, and valued. The supervisors are thankful and appreciative. The recognition we receive is nice; it makes you feel good!
What is one thing you wish people knew about your job? I do my job with excellence, and that helps the people around me. It takes skill to do this work! Caring for our surroundings, the environment around us, is an important job, one I take a lot of pride in. I do it to help people, to serve them.
What drew you to Accurate originally?
Prior to Accurate, I'd never worked in the cleaning industry before. In high school, I had a part-time job as a cashier at a clothing store. I also worked at a laundromat, a factory, and then for several years at the Monte Carlo Casino in food service. I started out busing tables and then was a food runner until my hours were cut. A friend who works at Accurate referred me. She said, "It’s easy to apply, and they’ll train you." I remember the day that I applied to Accurate, because they called me right away! I interviewed on December 5th. Orientation and training were thorough. Ever since I joined Accurate, I don’t want to work anywhere else. There are a lot of jobs here in Las Vegas. Anyone who’s willing to work can find another job. I don’t want to start over. I have all these years invested here, and I have a pension. I like the flexibility and variety at Accurate with the option to cover other accounts.
What is your WHY of being a cleaning industry professional? In other words, what brings you to work each day besides needing to earn a paycheck? I like to do this kind of work. It's the perfect job for me because I like cleaning and I also love to be around people. I get a chance to meet new people and make friends. My main worksite at Accurate is a residential community, and we keep it spotlessly clean. I'm really proud of that. The praise and compliments we get from residents and staff make me feel good. They say, "What would we do without you guys?" [cleaning crew] It makes you feel appreciated.
What keeps you motivated at work? The nature of the job itself, plus the people aspect. I get to build relationships with the customer, their staff and residents, and my teammates. I really enjoy my Accurate coworkers. We have fun and they're great people to work with, especially Maria "Flor" Ruelas and Teresa Henriquez . The people that surround me are so positive!
You can have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life. What is it? Toilet paper, multi-folds (paper towels), and sanitizer.
Claudia really loves her work! We love it, and we appreciate her! #respect
