Our monthly Employee Spotlight series features one of our amazing team members, showcasing what it’s like to work in the cleaning industry at Accurate, where we #keepitfun.
This month we are happy to introduce you to Lourdes Reyes! LuLu, as she's affectionately known to her peers, has been with Accurate for almost 18 years. Lourdes was nominated because she consistently exceeds expectations with her A+ attendance and dependability, cleaning expertise, and exceptional leadership and supervisory skills.
We had the privilege of getting to know more about Lourdes as both a person and a professional during a recent Question & Answer session. She is a determined, intelligent, and resilient woman! We've always admired and respected Lourdes, and we are humbled and honored by her willingness to share other pieces of herself with us. We all have a story to share, so read on and be inspired by hers (as is usual with our Employee Spotlight series)!

Lourdes is a perfect example of our primary core value, #WeKeepOurWord. She's almost never absent from work and always on time. We never have to worry about complaints at her buildings, she hasn't had any turnover on her crew, and she stays within budget. I was very fortunate to work with Lourdes, aka Lulu! She's an amazing employee. Her hard work and dedication are admirable. WHAT LOURDES SHARED ABOUT HERSELF
What is one thing you would like people to know about your work? I've been part of this company for 17 years. Accurate knows, values, and recognizes my work and all I do.
What makes you feel proud and satisfied about your work? My coworkers and the camaraderie we have. I like the work I do and my job role! The personnel in the customer's building where I work for Accurate are welcoming and tell me all the time that I'm doing a great job. Also, when I use the floor buffing machine, I love to look at them when I'm done... to see how shiny and fabulous they look!
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be? I'd like to work in the Accurate office in the Human Resources department! I worked in an office in my native country.
Which team member is your biggest inspiration at Accurate? My coworker Guillermo Hernandez (who could be next month's Employee Spotlight 😉), because we always support each other. When something has to be done, he does it immediately. He's organized. Guillermo is always ready and willing to do things at the age of 65. In addition, he's been with this company 12 or 13 years himself.
What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome in your life so far? I had stomach cancer 17 years ago. It was a challenging time. I had two surgeries and chemotherapy, and my then-husband asked me for a divorce. Accurate Building Maintenance allowed me to take a leave of absence for 7-8 months and return to my workplace.
We are so glad and thankful that you are healed, Lourdes! It was our pleasure and honor to support you this way during that difficult time, and we'll always be 100% in your corner!

What advice would you give new hires? I would advise that you put your effort into the work, because Accurate is a good company. I would recommend they try to keep the workplace organized and clean.
What job did you want to have when you were a child? I wanted to be a doctor, but it couldn't be. I did go to university and studied Commerce and Accounting. Unfortunately, the credits for my academic studies do not transfer/validate here in the United States.
What keeps you working in the cleaning industry? I feel comfortable with the work I'm doing and content where I work. I feel at home with Accurate as a company.
What skill do you think everyone should learn? I think it's important for everyone to learn how to be detail-oriented in your work, to satisfy your client and company.
You have to sing karaoke. What song do you choose? I'd like something romantic, like Los Dandy's "Tres Regalos" (released in 1965). We would love to hear that!
