This month, we are turning the spotlight on Johnny Manzanales! He's been part of our janitorial crew for 17 years and is a supervisor at his job site. With an infectious smile and positive attitude, Johnny has earned everyone's trust and respect. He's all about providing top-notch customer service and making sure everyone's happy. Johnny is a true asset to the team, and we're lucky to have him!

WHAT JOHNNY HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE JANITORIAL INDUSTRY AND WORKING AT ACCURATE
What's your WHY on being a cleaning industry professional? In other words, what brings you to work each day, at this job, besides needing to earn a paycheck? I like it. I like the work; I like the fact that it's detail-oriented. If I see something out of place, I like to take care of it. There's also a sense of achievement in that I know what I'm supposed to do, and as long as I do that, I know I've done my job and done it well.
What aspect of your job do you enjoy the most? I get to work with great people at Accurate. Our customer's staff here are really great, too.
What makes you proud and satisfied about your work? The fact that I come in every day and I always try my best, to do whatever I can with excellence– and that's in the details.
Johnny's contentment with his work and his life in general is evident. We can see why his leadership and attitude are valued and respected by so many.
Which of Accurate’s core values resonates most with you and why? (Keep It Fun, Opportunity, Respect, Solutions, and We Keep Our Word) SOLUTIONS— when we work together as a team, we can deliver on our promises. Teamwork is really important to me, and it's connected to Solutions.
Describe your fellow Accurate team members in three words. Solid, nice, and very hardworking people.
Which team member is your biggest inspiration at Accurate? Dee Perez, Customer Service Manager. She's always working hard and available to help with whatever I need and to answer any questions.
WHAT JOHNNY SHARED ABOUT HIMSELF
What did you want to do for a career when you were growing up? I wanted to be an artist, drawing and painting canvases. I do it for fun; I draw on sketchbooks and canvases, nothing major or professional. I love art.
What type of movies do you like?
The horror movie genre. Old school ones like “Friday the 13th"– the classics that I rented at Blockbuster on the weekends.
How do you define success? Somebody that never gives up and is always trying no matter what.
What would your dream "retirement gig" be? A tour guide somewhere tropical along the coast or an island, or maybe on a cruise. You could enjoy the water and beach while you're at work.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? Spend as much time as possible with my kids, to take them out and have fun with them. Prioritize the relationship with them before it all completely changes! That's bound to happen as they age. My son Arturo is 14, and my daughter Ivanna is 11.
What is your greatest accomplishment, or what are you most proud of in your life?
My kids. That feels like a great life accomplishment; that’s a great thing I’ve done in life, raising my kids.
What is one food you wish had zero calories?
Pizza. My favorite is Hawaiian style with pineapple and mushrooms.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned in the last 3 years? Just to not stress out about things that are beyond your control. I feel like a lot of us, we worry about things that we don’t have a lot of power over, and eventually things resolve on their own– and the worry and stress aren't worth it.
What is your #1 pet peeve?
People who are rude for no reason.
What was the first thing you bought with your own money? My first car at about age 18– a Honda Civic.
What piece of advice would you give to your younger self? I would say, "Keep saving your money! Don't blow through it as easily as it comes."
If you were an animal, what would you be?
A lion, because he’s king of the jungle, "large and in charge." 😉
