This month, we highlight a team member whose determination, kindness, and reliability have made a strong impact in her first year at Accurate. A focused professional and devoted mother, she gives her best each day for her crew and for her family, working hard for what matters most. “Success is achieving the goals I set for myself and building a strong, secure life with my children.”

Any custodial worker knows they are more than "just" a janitor— and we agree!
At Accurate Building Maintenance, our team members are the backbone of our team and the heartbeat of our purpose: inspiring personal and professional growth while creating clean, healthy, safe communities. They take care of our customers, so we take care of them like family—the best kind! We are so grateful for all they do each day and love to see them grow and succeed.
Our monthly Janitorial Employee Spotlight series features one of our amazing team members, showcasing what it’s like to work in the cleaning industry at Accurate, where we #KeepItFun.
This month, we're proud to shine the spotlight on Alejandra Sanz, who joined Accurate nearly a year ago and has already made a strong impression. She began as a janitorial crew member and quickly stood out for her reliability, willingness to learn, and steady presence on the job. Today, she leads the evening shift at one of our large corporate office sites, where her consistency, communication, and calm focus set the standard for her crew.
Leadership and coworkers alike describe Alejandra as someone who shows up ready to do things right: supporting her team, adapting quickly, and taking pride in delivering quality work every single shift. She brings positivity, respect, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. Her growth reflects both her strong work ethic and her personal motivation: building a better life for her children (twin 14-year-old daughters) and her mother.
Alejandra’s resilience and deep love for her family were evident throughout our Q&A. She stays grounded by her goals, finds pride in doing things well, and brings strength and gratitude to every part of her life. Read on to get to know Alejandra and why her teammates value her so much.
Special thanks and kudos from creator/author Erin Williams (Marketing) to our dedicated Customer Service Manager Dee Perez for her assistance in carrying out this month's article!

WHAT ALEJANDRA HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE JANITORIAL INDUSTRY AND WORKING AT ACCURATE
What's your WHY for being a cleaning industry professional? In other words, what brings you to work each day at this job, besides needing to earn a paycheck? To support my children and my mother. Even though they aren’t with me right now, I work hard so we can have what we need, and until I can return home and give them a better life.

What is one thing you wish people knew about your job? That you’re stronger than you think. Sometimes the work looks impossible, like carrying heavy trash bags up the stairs, but you can do it.
What would you like Accurate's management to know? I want to thank management for giving me the opportunity to work in such a great company. I really appreciate how well they look after all of us—my team and every employee.
What is your proudest moment working at Accurate? My proudest moments are at the end of each day, knowing I gave my all. I put a lot of effort into my work, and that makes me feel satisfied.
What are your goals while working at Accurate? To keep learning and, if the opportunity comes, to move into a higher position.
What makes you feel proud and satisfied about your work? When my team and I finish our work the right way and everything looks just how it should. Doing things well makes me proud.
Which aspects of your job do you enjoy the most? When I have quick meetings with my team and they understand the instructions right away. That makes me happy. I also enjoy my lunch breaks, and of course, getting paid for the work I do.
Describe your Accurate teammates in three words. Respectful, hard workers, and efficient.
Have you ever had an embarrassing moment at work? What happened? Yes, once I tripped over a trash bag in front of my coworkers because I didn’t see it in my path. Definitely embarrassing!
Is there someone at our company who inspires you? The supervisors who work hard and are dedicated. Their effort inspires me.

Which of Accurate's core values is your favorite or most important to you, and why? (We Keep Our Word, Opportunity, Respect, Keep it Fun, and Solutions) Respect, and all that goes along with it, like camaraderie, and gratitude, but above all, justice.
I believe in treating everyone the same, no matter their position. I appreciate that Accurate lives by that.
WHAT ALEJANDRA SHARED ABOUT HERSELF
How do you define success? I define success as achieving the goals I set for myself — personally, professionally, or academically. For me, success is having stability and being able to build a strong, secure life with my children.
What do you like to do in your free time? I like being at home and staying connected with my family, sharing moments and taking care of them in the ways I can.
What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome in your life so far? Living alone in this country and working hard to support my family from afar has been the biggest challenge in my life.
What is something unique about you? I always try to do everything with a positive attitude. When someone tells me I did a good job, I feel really good about myself.
What is the most important lesson you have learned in the last 3 years? Emigrating and being away from my family has taught me to value what I have today, more than ever.

What is your first thought of the day when you wake up? Thanking God for giving me the opportunity to live another day.
You're happiest when __________ (fill in the blank). When I get to see my children and my mother on video calls.
If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? And why? (NOT MONEY) Unlimited mobile data, or even everyday ‘luxuries’ like eating out or affordable rent. Those things cost a lot, and they make it harder for me to save and keep moving toward my goals in my home country.
How do you balance your career at Accurate with your family and personal life? By setting clear boundaries, staying organized, and prioritizing my daily responsibilities so I can make the best use of my time.
What was your first job? My first job was when I was 15, working in a clothing and accessories shop to help pay for university, since I had already started college by then.
If you were given the chance, who would you like to be for a day? I would like to be a brave person who fights for workers' rights, like many leaders at Accurate, whom I admire for being dedicated and very hardworking. For example, Lily (Area Supervisor), Mayra (Recruiter/HR Assistant), Bonnie (Director of Workplace & Employee Experience), and Mrs. Dee Perez (Customer Service Manager). Author's Note: Thank you for this recognition, Alejandra. We believe it's so important! - Accurate Leadership & Management Teams

What is your favorite quote or motivational phrase that you say often? One phrase I say a lot is, ‘Hay que partir uñas para trabajar, que Dios no nos hizo bonitas pero sí pobres.’ It's said with humor and grit. In English, essentially it means, ‘We weren’t born rich, so we have to hustle.’ My biggest motivation is my children.
Do you prefer cold weather or hot weather? Hot weather, because I am from Guatemala. It’s hot there, and I am used to the climate of my country.
If you could go back and give your 13-year-old self some advice, what would it be? If God gave me the opportunity to turn back time, I would tell my younger self to spend more time with my siblings and family; to balance school with time together.
Thank you, Alejandra, for being a highly valued team member and an inspiration! We are so glad you’re part of The Accurate Family.
